MERRY CHRISTMAS! Assessment of another year traveling gluten free and news on the web!

gluten free christmas 2018

This year is almost over and we want to wish you the best for this Gluten Free Christmas and the new year! We are already preparing the 2019 travel plan to continue sharing with you our experiences traveling to new gluten-free destinations!

This year has been a year full of gluten free adventures for all of us! We have shared gluten-free trips visiting different cities in Spain, the United Kingdom, Croatia, the United States, South Africa, France, the Netherlands and Belgium. Soon we will also share our trips visiting other countries – which we will not reveal yet – about which we have not had time to write about.

In addition, this year we have renewed the web page so that it adapts much better to mobile devices and we continue working so that it loads faster. We are doing without help of experts, so if at any time you see a broken image, the page loads slower than usual or simply does not load… it just means that we’ve messed with the configuration! Soon it will work fine again! We would also appreciate that you could inform us when detecting something not working properly so we can fix it as quickly as possible.

NEWS ON THE WEB PAGE:

A few days ago we published a new tool that will be very useful for you! A MAP WITH ALL THE GLUTEN FREE RESTAURANTS IN WHICH WE HAVE EATEN! In this map you will find the following information:

  • The restaurants we have eaten in our trips as Gluten Free Adventures.
    • Logo Gluten Free Adventures: indicates the restaurants in which we have eaten without problems.
    • Red radioactive symbol: indicates the restaurants in which they have contaminated us. Luckily there are very few!
  • The contact details of each of the establishments (address, telephone and website).
  • In most you will also find the links to the review in our blog.

As we keep traveling, we will update it.

We have improved the descriptions of gluten-free travel cards – sometimes thanks to our foreign colleagues and in others, thanks to requests from some of our readers – to make them more useful when traveling gluten-free around the world. In addition, this is a tool that we use a lot ourselves according to the destinations we go to. Especially when, in some countries, when talking about eating gluten-free they look at you with the face of “what are you telling me?”.

We published a new section called “ADVENTURES WITH GLUTEN“… this is the worst section for us! If we add a new article in this section, it means that we have been contaminated and that, unfortunately, we will add another radioactive red point in the map of gluten-free restaurants… We hope that in 2019 we do not have to add any! In 2018 we have only added 2 (Tapa Tapa in Barcelona and Deli Time in Downers Grove, United States). It is a good ratio taking into account that along this year we have eaten in more than 120 restaurants spread all over the world.

It is possible that, in any of my trips, I go to some restaurant not trained by the associations where the risk of being contaminated with gluten exists. I kindly ask you to also take into account that the list of references can change. Please, always double check before eating in the restaurants we recommend. Thank you very much!
