We’re two celiac travelers eager to eat the world!
Isa is a Paediatrician in one of the best hospitals in Barcelona. And I, Santi, am dedicated to the Marketing and Sales of Industrial Equipment in a company in Santa Perpetua de Mogoda. We met at the end of 2015 in a conference on celiac disease and, since then, we became partners in adventures. gluten-free adventures!
She is allergic to all foods containing wheat, oats, barley, and rye. Unlike celiacs, she has an allergic reaction if she eats these kind of foods, so she has to be very careful. She has been on a gluten-free and oat-free diet since she was diagnosed in 1998.
As far as I’m concerned, although I was diagnosed late, I have always believed that celiac disease has been with me since I was born… As a baby I was diagnosed with fish allergy after eating a porridge; then came lactose intolerance and allergy to some fruits; in 2001, when I was 13 years old, I was diagnosed with celiac disease. Finally!
And we can’t forget Jolly IV, who takes us everywhere when we don’t travel by plane. It’s a Toyota Land Cruiser prepared for long routes. We love discovering the world with it!
